Fun and Excitement

For the past years that I have been a member of FAGA I realized that there is fun and excitement aside from playing on our regular tournaments. Every Tuesday we have a group called "BIAK NA BATO" aka Split Rock Boys composed of members and friends who religiously play and bond together at this hard but well kept Bronx course. This was the idea of our beloved BOD Nick Salubayba in creating a group of members who are free to play every Tueday. The course is not that easy, you have to play it with caution or you will end up scoring in the high 100's.
Pelham-Split Rock is New York City's only 36 hole facility.The Pelham course was built in 1901 and is a links-style layout. With it's expansive fairways and forgiving layout this is one of the easiest course to play..but not Split Rock, this is a championship caliber John Van Kleek classic design. This is a shot maker course, it is a challenge that forces you to use every club in your bag. Whether you are looking to develop your skills or challenge your game..this is where you want to be..to prepare yourself in any FAGA tournaments that you plan to conquer.Aside from Nick the other notables are Nelson Perez, Boyet Cabildo,Pabs Ibarrola,Ray Nepomuceno,Sam Bangug,Rolly Tupaz,Joe Barreno,Bernie StaJuana,Serge Oliva,Ruben Alegre and Roberth Cabildo. Congratulations to Bernie Sta Juana, Nelson Perez and Joe Barreno for showing what a fine Split Rock Boys you have been by winning the first and second place at the recently held outing at Shirley. Rah rah rah..split rock boys rules..
