Arlie Cabrales and Nar Andalis win Open

As the great Yogi Berra would say - it’s déjà vu all over again! Indeed it is for Arlie Cabrales as he is poised to repeat as Player of the Year in 2006. Winning the FAGA Open at Great Gorge was the clincher and insurance policy, and it is just matter of formality in the Finals at Great Neck, where he will start with a 103 point margin over 2nd placer James Maniego, as he did 2 years ago against Willy Libid.

Rain was farthest thing from the minds of 54 starters at Tall Grass last Sunday. After all, it was a sunny 60-degree morning as the lady golfers and some men put on their sun tan lotions to quell what might have been a scorching afternoon. But weather forecast prevailed as rain started to trickle by the early afternoon to the dismay of Joe Barreno and company who is on the tail end of the group.
