Vic Navarra is President's Cup Champ
With a pair of net 64's, Vic Navarra believes consistency is a golf virtue one must possess in order to win the big ones. And a big one he did win last Sunday at Pine Ridge - The Dr. Lerias President's Cup.
Trailing Eric Ciar and Jerry Pabalan by a stroke after the first round at Tall Grass did not bother Navarra as he never wavered in his quest for the Cup. He even punctuated the win with a 5-stroke demolition of Ciar who was hounded by a disastrous 8th hole where he had to re-hit his third shot after a lost ball.
The LeaderBoard action saw Efraim Carballo overtake erstwhile leader Bob Zarate who succumbed to the fast greens of Pine Ridge.
Arnie Te Eng Foo Wins Eyellusion Open
Forecast for the day was rain and high winds. Maybe some wind, yes, but rain? Not a single drop as 41 players from FAGA, FilamNJ, PGANY and PGI traded shots for a chance to win the 1st Eyellusion Open Cup and Senior Open. Six Oakley sunglasses and some cash were up for grabs to the Open winner, as well as winners of closest to the pin contests courtesy of Jun Fernandez.
Arnie Te Eng Foo of FilamNJ took home the top prize with a net 65 (gross 91) to bag the Open Cup to out-shoot Noel Blumenau (gross 80) by a single stroke.

Learn to Swing a Golf Club
Anyone can learn to swing a custom clubs, and play golf. Golf is like any other game; it is a compilation of a number of skill sets. One must learn to swing a club, to move the ball; one must learn to aim, to move the ball in the correct direction; and the object then becomes moving the ball proficiently around the hole and ultimately around the course. The object of golf is to score as low as possible. This article will discuss the swing itself, but do not think that a great swing instantly makes a great player.
Bob Zarate Wins the Kick-Off Classic
The hottest day of spring was just unbearable for most of the field as 28 golfers started the final round of the FAGA Kick-off Classic at Philip Rotella golf club hoping to win the season's ice-breaker tour.
But Bob Zarate continued his winning streak with a final round net 74 to clinch the trophy.
With an opening round net 61 at Swan Lake, nobody came close to catching his 135 net score. Bernie Sta. Juana almost did as he gallantly pursued the leader but fell 2 strokes short with a net 137 after opening with a net 66. Five strokes coming into the final round is just too much to handle.
RJ Hofilena, who was second after the first round with net 63 lost steam with a net 78. However, he maintains his lead at the LeaderBoard with 97.5 points, closely followed by Sta. Juana at 95.0 pts.
Baguio we came, we conquer?
Our trip to the Philippines was a success. We were all excited that finally, after a year of waiting our dream trip was finally realized. We went to Pulilan and stayed there for a night at Serge Oliva's residence..we were treated like kings..pampered and our needs taken care for...what more could we asked..on behalf of our delegation I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you Mr. and Mrs Oliva..for your kindness...and hospitable way..I want to apologize to my room mate Eric Ciar..sorry for my un-ending snoring..
